If you want to see real pain. Despard is going loooong!

ree

He’s driven a Drag car over a quarter mile at 260+kmh.

He abandoned a life as a fast bowler to become an Olympic sprinter.

He’s won the Stawell Gift. He’s won Devonport Gift.

He was the youngest Burnie Gift winner.... ever!!!

He’s an Australian Record Holder in the 4x100 relay

And Tasmanian Record Holder in the 200.

What’s next? Well, he’s going loooong...ish.

He’ll be running the 400 at Devonport. It doesn’t sound like much to some of us... but that’s double his pet distance and four times the distance he’s had most of his success at!

If you want to see real pain, find yourself a spot near the fence at about the 350 mark and see the face of a man who knows how to suffer. He may not be smiling :)

He has a need for speed, but will he have the speed he needs in that last 50metres?

He’ll be just one of the highlights at this year's Carnival Series.

Running, chopping, cycling, rock drilling ice cream, beer, kids activities.

Track Carnivals at Rosebery Dec 20, Hobart Dec 27, Launceston Dec 28th, Devonport Dec 29th and Burnie Dec 31st

Criteriums in Launceston on the 26th and Ulverstone on the 30th.
