Monstrous talent heading for our Carnivals!!!

What I’m about to tell you is exceptional, yes... but it's even more extraordinary than you might think.

Angus Hincksman claimed two golds in the 800m and 1500m at the U18 State Championships in 2022. Cool right!

Yes, but what makes it truly extraordinary is that Angus is a para-athlete in a category that includes athletes with a range of disabilities or impairments... and he was running in able-bodied competition!

He was diagnosed with a brain injury at birth, suffering seizures, and there was some doubt he would walk, but he started running when he was 9, and by 2015 he made his school’s able-bodied cross country team.

He was later classified in the range of Para categories that includes athletes with an acquired brain injury.

He set his sights on a bunch of National Age Records for his classification – and went on to break the National U16 T38 records for both 1500m and 800m and received a Scholarship to attend the prestigious Westminster School at the end of 2020.

You can see him take on our able-bodied athletes in Hobart, Devonport and Burnie.

Worth the price of admission!
