One of our very best. Perhaps the nicest bloke in Tasmanian Cycling.

Local road cycling legend Nathan Earle is having his last professional race...

on a track bike no less!

And it will be here in Hobart at the Bikes and Spikes where he’ll be saying an official 'Goodbye' to his professional career.

There's a lot to brag about... but he never has... he never would. So here's just a snippet from us.

He beat Alberto Contador’s Everesting time to unofficially lead the world in the Everest Challenge... finally officially listed as third. By the time it was made official, two more climbers had pipped the time, but it puts him there amongst the very best climbers on earth.

He’s won overall GC in Japanese Tours. Podiums in overall KOM... lots of them. In the 2017 Tour of Lombok, as just one example, he won two stages... overall General Classification... overall KOM... AND overall Sprint Points Classification!!!! Who does that?!

There have been setbacks though.

He’s had crashes.... serious crashes... they should perhaps have been career-ending crashes... if he wasn’t Natha Earle. He came back... and came back... and came back. Lots of days in hospitals, but always back on the bike and still sought after by international teams.

The longer the race... the bigger the climbs... the tougher it gets... the better he fares.

A gently spoken man with a heart of titanium and the fighting spirit of a honey badger.

He’s been an inspiration to Tasmanian cyclists, particularly our juniors and this humble man has risked his reputation to take part in local racing when at home, whether he’s race-fit or not, purely to support local racing.

Nathan will be racing in a Tasmania Versus The World  Italian Pursuit as his last professional race before starting his new life in the general workforce. If you run a business that’s looking for someone unstoppable, you can chat to him at the Carnival.

More importantly, there will be an oversized “Thank you Nathan Earle” card for you to say goodbye and the number of messages will be reflected in his race payment :) Let him know that you appreciate what he has done for Tasmanian cycling... and for Tasmania’s reputation around the world.

Hobart Bikes and Spikes December 27 New Town Oval from 10.30am until 5pm.
